The Michelin Guide's review
This imposing granite massif rises majestically. The symbol of the département to which it gives its name, its highest point reaches 1 699m (sommet de Finiels). Its desolate landscape strewn with granite rocks has earned it the nickname of "wild mountain". Covered by pines and beech trees, its slopes contrast with the high plateaus grazed by cattle. Admire the views from the pic Cassini or the col de Montmirat, and don't miss the Château d'Aujac.
