The Michelin Guide's review
This basilica, with its cathedral-like dimensions, was built between the early 15C and 1527 on an outcrop and received pilgrims from the Middle Ages onwards. Its Flamboyant Gothic façade was described by Claudel as an "ardent brazier of blooming roses". The pinnacles, bell turrets and gargoyles are particularly ornate. The interior is exemplary of pure Gothic architecture. Note also the elegant rood screen and reliquary tabernacle.
