The Michelin Guide's review
This was the first imperial complex built by Sinan (1544-1548). The Mosque of the Prince was commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent as a tribute to his son Mehmet, who died young. It's a remarkable ensemble: the elegance of two octagonal minarets flanked by balconies and geometric bas-reliefs; the perfect proportions of the ablution fountain; the austerity of the prayer hall, crowned by a large dome. In the garden, admire the türbe (funerary monuments) decorated with Iznik tiles.
