The Michelin Guide's review
Once part of a Benedictine abbey, this church was built in the 12C. The bell tower, façade (whose towers were ransacked in the Wars of Religion) and several capitals were altered in the 19C, but its chevet is still a perfect example of Auvergne Romanesque art. Admire the harmony and simplicity of its lines, decorated with signs of the Zodiac. Inside, note the 15C fresco of the Last Judgement on the right, and the historiated capitals in the chancel. The paintings date from the 19C.
