The Michelin Guide's review
Among the Bucium vineyards stand the ramparts of this monastery, founded in the 17C by Gheorghe Duca (reigned 1668-1672). Its watch towers, fine doorway topped by a pointed roof and embellished with Moldavian aurochs justify its classification as a "citadel". The twin-towered church silhouette, resembling the church of the Three Hierarchs, stands atop the hill. Inside are wall paintings in pastel tones where blue predominates.
