The Michelin Guide's review
Located in the heart of the city, the Duomo, bell tower and baptistry combine to create an extraordinary vision of white, green and pink marble, which bears witness to the evolution of Florentine art from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Built in the mid-14C and opening onto Piazza San Giovanni and Via dei Calzaiuoli, the Loggia del Bigallo is composed of two round arches surmounted by twin windows, beneath which lost or abandoned children would have waited to be adopted in bygone days.
