Alta Vista Terrace
Michelin Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The city's first protected landmark district, Alta Vista Terrace District was designed in 1904 by Joseph C. Brompton as a fully-fledged work of architecture. Twenty houses line each side of the street, each row identical to those on the opposite pavement. Each of the brick homes is 6m wide and two storeys high, except for the four central, three-storey limestone structures. Georgian in style, the houses nevertheless exhibit a rich variety of details from the Byzantine, neo-Classical, Gothic and Renaissance.
