The Galerie du Roi and Galerie de la Reine, which pre-dated Milan's Galleria Vittorio-Emanuele, make up the loveliest street in the city. In 1846, the architect Cluysenaar built the elegant Classical pilastered façade. The three-storey galleries covered with a semi-circular glass vault on a metal framework are home to many luxury boutiques and cafés.
