Jardins d'Albertas, Bouc-Bel-Air
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This 8ha garden, laid out in 1751 by the Marquis d'Albertas, harmoniously combines the Italian Renaissance tradition (terraces, statues sculpted in the Classical style, artificial cave) with the spirit of France's formal gardens, as inspired by Le Nôtre, while adapting to the Provençal climate. In the centre of the large basin, the 17-jet fountain, framed by newts blowing into their conchs, is a genuine masterpiece. The garden constitutes a romantic ode to all things green.
