Museum of the Americas - Auch
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Housed in the former Jacobin convent, this museum, opened in 1793, was entirely restored and reworked in 2018-19. While it does display some local work, its main claim to fame are its Central and South American holdings. It boasts the second largest collection of pre-Columbian art after that of the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac Museum and exhibits a comprehensive panorama of pre-Hispanic cultures from Peru, Ecuador, Central America and Mexico up until the Spanish Conquest.
