The Michelin Guide's review
Built in the second half of the 12C, the abbey-church was at the time the Limousin's largest church. Somewhat reduced in the 18C, due to lack of resources, it remains remarkable, notably for its unusual steeple. The tomb of St Stephen (1250-1260) is undoubtedly the highlight. The abbey buildings are laid out around the old cloister garden. Some 500m/yds away (towards Palazinges), in a narrow valley traversed by the fast-flowing River Coiroux, are the remains of a convent abandoned in 1791.
