The Michelin Guide's review
An enormous stone citadel which is home to several monuments, the Acropolis, whose name means "upper city", is a sanctuary dedicated to Athena which stands at an altitude of 150m and overlooks a historic site of 117ha, green hills and some of the capital's most attractive districts. Built in the 5C BC, the site remains a symbol of Athens' power during its triumphant democratic period.
