Built in the early 3C, the Epidaurus Theatre is doubtless the most accomplished theatre of the ancient world due to its magnificent lines, harmonious proportions and beautiful setting. The cavea can hold almost 12 000 spectators. It is worth climbing into the rows of seats to admire the curvature and the sound, which carries to the top of the huge spread of terraces 22.5m above the ground with no distortion.
