The Michelin Guide's review
This vast plateau, from where two of Corsica's main rivers, the Taravo and the Rizzanese, flow is characterised by a high-mountain Mediterranean climate; winters are particularly harsh, with snow until the end of April. Averaging at 1 500m altitude, the hilly plateau is the largest group of high plains in Corsica and a formidable playground for hikers and horseback riders, who use the transhumance trails.
